“Passage”
A new limited edition metal print
“Passage” – a new limited edition metal print, was created on a particularly cold night last winter close to my home. It was captured from a wonderfully unique set of lights I found. As you might imagine, I spend a great many hours outside in the dark, either designing lightscapes I can photograph or driving through towns looking for suitable candidates. Due to the necessity of almost total darkness, I probably get more done in the cold of winter than I do in the summer when I have to wait until 9.30 or 10 to start work. With this one it took a long time to achieve the results I wanted and by the time I’d finished, my fingers were so numb I couldn’t feel the shutter button anymore!
The white portions you see on the print are not actually printed at all; they are represented by the metal medium, so this is really only a black ink print. “Passage” is now hanging at its temporary home, Gallery Piquel in New Hope, PA. Should you find yourself anywhere close, please stop in and take a look, as it really has to be seen in person to be believed (Fri-Sun 11-6). It is perfect for contemporary homes, corporate office or reception space.
