I’m very proud to announce that my first sculpture, the whopping 3 piece, translucent fiberglass, Exhibitionist, was installed and unveiled in the beautiful riverside town of New Hope PA on Friday October 18th 2019.
Exhibitionist presents two wonderfully diverse characters for its visitors:
During daylight hours, the soft, three color, pearlescent Exhibitionist sculpture unveiled, stands swathed in vines and flowers against a backdrop of green bushes. Tucked back a hair from the sidewalk on River Road, it seductively beckons admiring passers-by to stop for a photo opportunity.
At twilight, Exhibitionist‘s true personality reveals itself, glowing, spinning and flashing excitedly. Nearly 2000 addressable LEDs perform a five minute luminescent display, of which any self respecting exhibitionist would be proud. With patriotic swirls, sparkling city lights, rain, the lighthouse effect and of course a dizzying gay pride rainbow, Exhibitionist is definitely a sculpture you’ll want to shoot a video with as well! #exhibitionistnewhope
Exhibitionist is the latest New Hope Arts Outdoor Sculpture Contest winner to be installed in the Borough. Spawned from the active imagination of British photographic artist Christopher Kennedy, the sculpture was derived from his distinctive Photo Luminism imagery. Not familiar with fiberglass, processors or addressable LEDs, Kennedy learnt all aspects and designed and created the entire sculpture, taking a hands on role from conception to completion. The project took about 6 months to fabricate over a 3 1/2 year period.
“I’m delighted to be leaving a whimsical legacy in this very special place. My hope is that Exhibitionist will become a beacon of positivity for this town and its wonderfully diverse people; that its colorful appearance will fill with happiness the hearts of all who see it, day or night.”
Exhibitionist can be viewed at The Studio Sculpture Garden, 131 N Main Street, New Hope PA. Illuminations daily: Twilight – 10.30pm. #exhibitionistnewhope
