With the shorter Fall days comes a huge bonus in Bucks County PA – the Exhibitionist sculpture in New Hope will brighten your evenings for longer!
Exhibitionist was installed in the historic riverside town of New Hope PA in October 2019. It was a popular winner of the New Hope Arts Outdoor Sculpture Contest. The very first sculpture by light photographer Christopher Kennedy, it was based on several of his PhotoLuminism images. Having never built a sculpture before, Kennedy took some time to do the research and eventually found a fiberglass mentor who was prepared to work with him to produce the 3 life size pieces. The project eventually took a total of 6 months over 2 1/2 years and involved a couple of other professionals as well. The sculpture contains almost 2000 addressable LEDs driven by a processor that animates the LEDs into a magical 5 minute performance.
Exhibitionist can be seen on North Main Street in New Hope PA during the day. It is illuminated from dusk until 10pm daily. Posing with the sculpture for photos and videos is encouraged. Use #exhibitionistnewhope
