I’ll admit that writing blogs isn’t really my forte. So much so in fact, that this is the second time I’ve written this one. The first one just totally vanished into the depths of Word Press never to be seen again.
That behind me, let me start again. Recently I was in LA for a week of whirlwind gallery promotional visits. This was followed by the compulsory sickness caught on the plane home which was in turn compounded very efficiently by a violent and totally uncalled for attack of poison ivy in all sorts of places poison ivy had no business being. Needless to say, blogs really didn’t seem terribly important for a couple of weeks. However, now I look back past the dark days I start remembering the good bits. California may have been busy but it was fun. Fun to see family and fun to create new stuff.
As you might have guessed, when I drive around at night somewhere unfamiliar, my eyes are on stalks looking for wildly interesting illuminations with which to create unique works of Photo Luminism. As luck would have it, on my first night there my sister Caroline had unwittingly driven us past a building with a very unusual set of lights on it’s frontage. I made a mental note to return, and return I did a few nights later. There’s nothing more exciting for me than encountering something new to play with; an array of lights I can transform into an abstract wonder that stimulates the imagination. So, I shall end this post by giving you a sneak peak of my new series, ‘shades of cream and gold.’ As with all the others, this was created in a single exposure entirely in-camera. I hope you like it.
