Photo Luminism US Flag Series created on 4th July
Surrounded by the sounds of bursting fireworks from private displays, it suddenly occurred to me that I ought to create a flag themed collection. As an Englishman but naturalized resident of the USA I figured I should do the American flag. Luckily I had the majority of the lights and equipment required to pull it off and 3 hours later I was capturing the first images. Why did I leave the white stripes out? I felt the flag would be overcrowded. I also felt the space would make up for them, and also allow the stars to shine more brightly. On seeing the results I’m glad I omitted them. Besides, it makes my flag unique! I hope you agree.
